Reenactment Table of the Chicago 7Project Description: The Chicago 7 or the Conspiracy 7 was a group of people put on trial during the time of the war of Vietnam. Eight people were taken into custody in 1969 under the charges of coming over state lines to start riots in Chicago. Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Tom Hayden, Rennie Davis, David Dellinger, Lee Weiner, John Froines, and Bobby Seale spend their time in court and then in jail. However, this trial struck the world in many ways with showcases of civil disobedience, racial inequalities, and abuse of power. Almost 50 years later in 2020 Paramount made a movie about the events appropriately titled “The Trial of the Chicago 7”. This comes to show that these events are still important to the world. Our spinning table showcases 5 important scenes from the trial and the events leading up to it. Associated with the table is a video with multiple chapters that explain the significance of the events.
